Work With Me to Find, Enthral, and Keep Your Readers
Find me on Reedsy, the Number One platform for professional and experienced editors.
Reedsy’s selection process isn’t easy. Despite being a Costa-nominated novellist, my good friend Matt Killeen got turned down – as did I on my first attempt. I had to prove my credentials with a wide array of client feedback – published clients – before they would judge that, yes, I can help writers make their work marketable.
That took me four full months from first application to onboarding. So now I think I’m justified in my pride at being accepted as a Reedsy Editor.
The best part is that it means you now have an easy way to apply for my editing services, using a platform that has done some of the credential-checking for you, and will also give you confidence that both your payments and your intellectual property are safe.
So whatever stage your work is at, come to me when you want to ensure your writing finds, enthrals, and/or remains in the hearts of young readers.

If, like Reedsy, you’d like to see some of the feedback I’ve had from published authors who can vouch for the benefits I’ll bring to your work, here’s a selection – more than could fit on my Reedsy profile page…
“Chip is detailed, organised, and reliable. He takes a patient and professional approach, and left me in a good position to submit marketable work. He has the gift of immediately seeing what isn’t working in a story and how to fix it. Rather than trying to change my vision, he astutely advised on how to make my existing ideas stronger.”
– Children’s author Rebecca Colby, published by Penguin Random House, Nosy Crow, et al
“The structure of Chip’s sessions are excellent. Each was tailored to my needs, clearly detailed, and gently brought me through the process of transferring my storytelling style to printed format. I was given some excellent tools to use, and discovering the science surrounding the art of storytelling was really useful. Chip gave me the confidence to keep going when I felt stuck.”
– Actor Martina McCormack
“Chip’s sessions were the best prepared and most enjoyable I’ve attended. He gave very detailed feedback and advice. He was always upbeat and encouraging, but I was given sound advice on how to improve my writing. It was excellent value for money!”
– Author Maureen Boon, published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers
I also had some lovely input from a former Programme Manager at the National Centre for Writing…
“Chip has the ability to convey complex messages simply and effectively. He is an excellent tutor, and is patient and dedicated to the work ahead of him. He builds trusting relationships quickly and effectively, is conscientious in everything he does, and has an ethos of service that I find deeply inspiring.”
– Sam Ruddock, Former Programme Manager, National Centre for Writing
