I began this website and newsletter from Pepys House, intending to give you diaries, stories, and insights from a storyteller living in the property of one of history’s most well-known social commentators.
I hadn’t expected that, very soon after that move, my career as an author would tug me in some different – and exciting – directions. Trying to keep up with Sam’s journalling pace became impossible, but I think most of you were keen to see the storytelling insights, reading for pleasure resources, and behind-the-story bits more – am I right?
Ultimately, there weren’t enough hours in the week for me to give you the attention you signed up for. But…
…here’s the good(ish) news: Our custodial tenancy of Pepys House has come to an unexpected end!
It’s bittersweet – we loved the House, and didn’t want to leave (see the local press coverage for more on the reasons why we had to go). But doing so means I’m finally able to turn this place into the bestest possible resource I can offer you.
